Whereas previous versions of the memo outlined certain parameters for restricting visitation at nursing homes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the November 2021 update eliminates most of these restrictions. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a memo in September 2020, revised November 2021, with directives concerning nursing home visitation.
